G. N.M (GENERAL NURSING & MIDWIFERY )COURSE

 

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION IN G. N.M COURSE


Age limit for admission: Candidate should have complete 17 years and should not be more than 25 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.


Note: Upper age limit shall be relaxed by 3 years in case of SC & ST candidates
Sex: both  men & woman.

 

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION FOR G.N.M COURSE / BASIC REQUIREMENT:

 

The minimum education qualification required is a pass in intermediate exam or its equivalent preferably with science subjects.


Un married/Divorced or widows without encumbrances between the ages of 17 to 24 years are eligible. Upper age limit can be relaxed by 3 years in the case of SC & ST candidates.


Physical fitness is essential and in support of that a certificate from registered medical practitioner is to be enclosed with application


a) Intermediate pass certificate or its equivalent (10+2)


b) The memorandum of marks obtained in intermediate or its equivalent examination.


c) Conduct certificate from the principal of the college last attended (not later than 6 months).


d) Certificate of any other educational qualification.


e) Certificate of physical fitness from a Registered medical practitioner


f) Four copies of recent passport size photographs


g) If the candidates belongs to a schedule caste/schedule tribe a certificate issued by MRO or Gazetted officer.


h) Migration certificate.


NOTE : Original certificates should not be sent along with application form. Receipt of an application form does not imply acceptance of the candidate for admission.

 

SUBJECTS IN G. N.M COURSE       

            

At the end of every year there will be a state board examination. 25% of marks are allotted for internal assessment.


1 Year Examination

Paper 1:  Fundamentals of Nursing, First Aid,

Paper 2:  Anatomy, Physiology and Microbiology

Paper 3: Community Health Nursing including Nutrition,  Psychology, Sociology,

Practical 1:  Fundamental of nursing

2 Year Examination

Paper 1:  Medical / Surgical Nursing-1 (including pharmacology)

Paper 2:  Medical / Surgical nursing-2 including Specialties like Eye, ENT, Gynecological Nursing, Communicable Diseases and Orthopedics Nursing.

Paper 3:  Pediatric Nursing, Mental health and Psychiatric Nursing

Practical 1: Medical / Surgical Nursing

Practical 2: Pediatric and Mental Health, Psychiatric Nursing

3 Year Examination

Paper 1:   Midwifery

Paper 2 :  Community health nursing 2, including professional trends, techniques, principles, of management and supervision

Practical 1:  Midwifery

 

DURATION OF THE G. N.M COURSE


Admission is open to candidates from all the parts of India. Preference will however be given to local candidates, who meet the basic requirements.


The duration of course is 3 years plus internship for 6 months. The candidates will be required to sign an understanding to do the internship for two years on completion of the course successfully. They must not give any bond to work in our Hospital for  after internship.
